Forty-six polling stations in the Far West have been placed on the snowfall risk list for the upcoming election on Falgun 21. 22 polling stations in Bajura, 19 in Dadeldhura, and five in Bajhang have been placed on the snowfall risk list.

There is a risk of snowfall in these places in the third week of Falgun as well. Although there will be snowfall at Tinkar and Chhangru polling stations in Darchula, the polling stations have been determined in Khalanga as voters from those polling stations will migrate to the district headquarters during this period.

Five polling stations in Himali Rural Municipality, six in Swamikartik Rural Municipality, one in Jagannath Rural Municipality, three in Gaumul Rural Municipality, three in Khaptadchhededaha Rural Municipality, two in Triveni Municipality and two in Budhinanda Municipality are the polling stations at risk of snowfall, said Chief District Officer Dorendra Niraula.

All five polling stations in Saipal Rural Municipality in Bajhang are at risk of snowfall, according to the District Administration Office. Dhalaun Secondary School 1 and 2, Kanda, Dhuli and Edadkudi Danda polling stations are at risk of snowfall.

The District Administration Office has stated that 19 polling stations in Dadeldhura are at risk of snowfall. Four in Ajaymeru Rural Municipality, three in Amargadhi Municipality, three in Aalital Rural Municipality, four in Ganyapadhura, one in Navadurga Rural Municipality and four in Bhageshwor Rural Municipality have been placed on the list of polling stations at risk of snowfall.

Premraj Bhatta, Chief of the Sudurpaschim Provincial Election Office, said that the problem in Darchula has been resolved. ‘In the case of polling stations placed at risk of snowfall in other districts, the Election Commission will provide alternatives as per the decision of the District Security Committee,’ said Bhatta, Chief of the Provincial Election Office.
