Two temporary polling stations have been set up in Darchula for the upcoming House of Representatives elections to be held on Falgun 21.

According to the District Election Office, a temporary polling center has been designated in Khalanga, the district headquarters, targeting voters from Chhangru and Tinkar villages of Beas Rural Municipality-1.

According to Chief Election Officer Bhuwan Giri, voters from Chhangru and Tinkar under Lipulekh are currently residing in Khalanga due to geographical remoteness and weather conditions. For this reason, a polling center has been set up in Khalanga to allow them to vote easily. Temporary polling centers have been designated at Kailashpati Basic School for voters from Chhangru and Moti Mahila Sangh Basic School for voters from Tinkar.

According to the details made public by the Election Office, 375 voters are registered at Kailashpati Basic School and 244 voters at Moti Mahila Sangh Basic School. In the 2079 BS election, there were 383 voters in Chhangru and 234 voters in Tinkar. Earlier, local level elections were also held in those areas, said Chief Election Officer Giri.

This time, after the local residents descended on the district headquarters in November, there was a demand to keep the polling center in Khalanga on Magh 5. Chief Election Officer Giri said that a temporary polling center was set up keeping in mind that demand. It is expected that voter participation will increase when the polling center is designated in the district headquarters.

112 polling stations and 143 polling stations have been designated for the House of Representatives elections across the district. According to Chief District Officer Anil Poudel, a security plan has been made by keeping 15 of them as highly sensitive, 32 as sensitive and 65 as normal.

According to the details of the number of voters, this time there are a total of 92,948 voters in Darchula. Of these, 47,755 are male and 45,193 are female voters. Chief District Officer Poudel said that all preparations have been intensified to conduct the election in an orderly, fair and peaceful manner.
