Rain has started in western Nepal since Friday afternoon. According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is currently occurring in some places in the Far Western Province.

The department's information officer Dinkar Kayastha also informed that there is generally cloudy weather in the hilly and mountainous areas of Gandaki, Lumbini and Karnali provinces, including the Far West Province.

According to the details received from the department, 10 millimeters of rain has fallen in Shatbanj of Baitadi in the last three hours, and similarly 5 millimeters have fallen in Darchula, 9.4 millimeters in Dadeldhura, 7 millimeters in Doti, 0.8 millimeters in Kanchanpur and 0.4 millimeters in Kailali. The weather in the rest of the areas is mainly clear. However, the department has also stated that it will gradually clear up at night.

The lowest temperature today is minus 6.9 degrees Celsius in Jumla. Similarly, the temperature is minus three in Jomsom and minus 0.9 degrees Celsius in Jiri. There is a possibility of moderate rain with thunder and lightning in most places of Karnali Province and Sudurpaschim Province, some places in Lumbini Province and some places in Gandaki Province tonight, the department has also stated in the bulletin issued this evening.

It is reported that there is a possibility of moderate snowfall/rain in some places in the high hilly and mountainous parts of Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim Provinces and in some places in the high hilly and mountainous parts of Bagmati Province and light snowfall/rain in one or two places in the high hilly and mountainous parts of Koshi Province.

There is a possibility of hail along with thunder and lightning in one or two places in Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim Provinces. As its impact is seen to affect daily life, tourism, health as well as air and road transport, it has also been requested to get information about the updated weather information issued daily by this division.
