Bhat, who was recruited into the Russian army about two years ago, has been missing for some time, and DNA testing has revealed that Bhat is dead, said Ramchandra Bhatt, ward chairman of Melauli Municipality-7.
It has been confirmed that 33-year-old Manoj Singh Bhat of Kanda, Melauli Municipality-7, Baitadi, who joined the Russian army and was involved in the Russia-Ukraine war, has died.
Bhat, who had been in the Russian army for about two years, had been missing for some time, and a DNA test revealed that Bhat had died, said Ramchandra Bhatt, ward chairman of Melauli Municipality-7.
Although the exact date of Bhat's death is not known, he said that the family was recently informed of his death. The deceased Bhat is survived by his parents, brother and wife.
Along with Bhat, Arjun Dutta Bhatt of Asur, Melauli Municipality-9, who had also joined the Russian army, also died last April. A search for Bhat had been underway since then.
