One person has died after an auto and a jeep collided in Rampur of the district. One person died when a jeep (M1Cha 441) and an auto (BhinPa 001 Ha 0408) coming from the opposite direction collided at around 8:30 pm on Friday in Jaltuda, Alital Rural Municipality-4.
One person was injured in the accident. Ram Bahadur Baral Magar, 26, of Jojla, Parashuram Municipality-10, died. Savita Thapa Magar, 21, of Panchadeval Municipality-3, Achham, was seriously injured in the accident.
As her condition became serious, she was referred to Dhangadhi for further treatment from Jogbuda Hospital, informed Barun Bahadur Singh, Chief of the District Police Office, Dadeldhura.
There were three people in the auto, including the driver. Auto driver Gopal Magar is absconding after the accident. The police have taken the jeep driver into custody, according to the Area Police Office, Jogbuda. All three people in the jeep are said to be safe. The police have said that further investigation into the incident is underway.
