Three and a half months after Gen-G martyr Deepak Saud attained martyrdom, Baitadi Chief District Officer Punya Bikram Poudel has reached his family to console him. Saud, of Shivnath Rural Municipality-2, Sharmali, attained martyrdom in Kathmandu on Bhadra 23 during the Gen-G movement.

During the Gen-G movement and demonstrations held on Bhadra 23 and 24, the District Administration Office had also deposited a lump sum of 1.5 million rupees in the account of martyr Deepak's father for relief and living expenses, which the government had promised to provide to those who were martyred in various parts of the country, including Kathmandu.

Praja Poudel, who did not go to the house to give the relief money, went to the house of martyr Deepak on Wednesday and met his family. Praja Poudel said that after the government declared him a martyr, he went to his house to console the family of martyr Deepak.

'We give priority to his family members for employment in the district,' he said, 'We also went to his house and found out about his family.' He said that he went to meet the family members of martyr Deepak as a consolation and as a mark of respect.
