The local administration has formed a committee to investigate the clash between prisoners and the prison warden inside Kanchanpur Prison two days ago.

Eight prisoners were injured in a clash that broke out inside the prison last Friday during a dispute between prisoners and the leader. Two of the injured have returned to the prison, while six are undergoing treatment at the Mahakali Provincial Hospital.

Chief District Officer Laxman Dhakal informed that a three-member investigation committee has been formed under the coordination of Assistant Chief District Officer Mohan Chandra Joshi to understand the truth behind the incident in the prison.

The committee includes District Police DSP Sagar Bohara and District Administration Administrative Officer Dharmaraj Upadhyay.

Chief District Officer Dhakal informed that the committee has been given seven days to investigate. 'We are going to monitor the prison today too,' he said, 'The committee will submit a detailed investigation report on the incident.'

The prisoners were protesting here, alleging that the leaders monopolized the prison. The prisoners have accused the leaders of manipulating the services they receive and engaging in illegal activities inside the prison.
