The municipality has made all wards, except Ward Nos. 1 and 7, free from Chhaupadi Goths through the 'Deputy Mayor with Women' program. The municipality declared Ward No. 8 as the seventh ward on Wednesday as a Chhaupadi Goth-free ward.
Deputy Mayor Nanda Thapa said that the ward was declared a Chhaupadi Goth-free ward after monitoring 456 houses in the ward. According to the program, 90 percent of the houses must be free from Chhaupadi Goths to be declared free from Chhaupadi Goths.
