1,862 new voters have been added to Doti. The number of voters has increased after the Election Commission called on people who have completed 16 years of age and have Nepali citizenship to register on the voter list since October 10.

According to Karunakar Pant, the office chief of the District Election Office, Doti, 583 of the added voters have filled in their details for voter ID cards through the online system, while 1,279 have been registered based on the biometric details of their national identity cards.

The commission had opened applications for the collection of voter lists from Asoj 10 to Mangsir 5 for the upcoming election to the House of Representatives to be held on Falgun 21. The office has stated that a significant number have been added in Doti this time under the same campaign.

According to the office chief, Pant, along with the registration of voter lists, work such as correcting errors and changing voter centers is also ongoing. 

Pant says that this increase in the number of voters is encouraging at a time when migration from hilly districts is increasing.
