The number of people registering their names on the voter list is increasing day by day. The District Election Office, Baitadi, has informed that more than 650 people have registered their names on the voter list in Baitadi for the House of Representatives elections to be held on Falgun 21.
Purushottam Joshi, acting chief of the District Election Office, Baitadi, said that 652 people have registered their names in the voter list from Asoj 20 to Thursday. “The youth age group is the largest group among those who have registered their names in the voter list,” he said. “Nowadays, the idea of registering their names in the voter list has increased among the youth.”
He said that so far, 438 men and 214 women have registered their names in the voter list. According to the data of the District Election Office, Baitadi, there are 154,216 voters who have completed the age of 18 in Baitadi as of Asoj 20. Out of which, 76,834 are women, 77,380 are men and two others are women.
In the last House of Representatives election 2079 BS, there were 150,156 voters in the district. 78,369 (52 percent) votes were cast in that election. Baitadi, which has only one parliamentary constituency, has two provincial assembly constituencies, 10 local levels, and 84 wards.
