Of the prisoners who escaped from the district jail, 388 have returned so far. Of those who returned, 371 are male and 17 are female prisoners.
According to Acting Administrator of the Prison Office Ramdutt Joshi, 99 of the prisoners who escaped after the prison break are still absconding. Among the absconding prisoners, 17 are women. According to Joshi, 63 of the prisoners who were returned were arrested by the police from various places in the district and returned to the prison.
14 Indian citizens are currently serving their sentences in the prison, while 17 Indian prisoners are still absconding. Legal action will be taken against prisoners and detainees who do not return voluntarily within the stipulated time as per the Prison Act, 2079 BS and other prevailing laws.
According to Acting Administrator Joshi, anyone who hides, shelters or shelters an absconding prisoner or prisoner will also be held legally guilty and necessary action will be taken against them.
