60 prisoners who escaped from Baitadi prison on August 24 have returned to the prison. Head of Baitadi Prison, Dhara Bhandari, said that today (Monday), 60 of the 62 prisoners who escaped by vandalizing the prison around 9:30 pm on the 24th have returned, except for two.
He said that the search for the two prisoners who are yet to return is underway. Among the prisoners who are yet to be returned, one is from the case of vehicular mutilation and one is from the case of extortion.
Four prisoners who had escaped from the district jail came in contact with Baitadi Jail. Out of the four, two escaped from Darchula, one from Kanchanpur and one from Makwanpur District Jail. Out of which the prisoners from Darchula and Kanchanpur have been sent there and the prisoners from Makwanpur have been kept in Baitadi jail, said the Chief Bhandari.
