The Api Himal Rural Municipality informed that the team of trainers and trainees participating in the professional mountain guide training in the Api Himal region successfully climbed the Bhabhaya Himal on Thursday.
According to Bhaktasih Thekere Bohra, chairman of the rural municipality, a team of 7 people climbed the mountain. Mountain guide training has been conducted in coordination with the rural municipality to attract people to climb Api Himal (7131), the highest mountain in the far western province.
According to President Thekere, training instructors Lal Bahadur Jirel, Ramkaji Tiwari, Rakeshraj Tamang and trainees Suryaman Tamang, Suraj Tamang, Bhishan Yonjan, Dali Sherpa have climbed Bhabhaya Himal .
Bhabhaya Himal is located on the right side of Aphimal in Aphimal-1.
President Thakere said that emphasis has been placed on building tourism infrastructure to attract tourism and mountain climbing in Api Himal. He said that work is being done with the help of various agencies in the construction of footpaths, tourism accommodation houses and other infrastructure.
The previous federal government had decided to open the climbing of 97 mountains in Far West and Karnali free of charge for the next two years.
