The flood victims of Dodhara Chandni Municipality have started a protest. They have been protesting since Thursday morning, demanding a concrete embankment in Jogbuda river.

Those displaced by the flooding of the Jogbuda river have come to give relief to the municipality as a symbol, carrying rice flour in sacks. Yamuna Magar of Dodhara Chandni-8 Zarga Tol said, 'We don't need this one bag of rice, we should build a concrete embankment on the river bank.' She says that she has been suffering from carrying her children to school at night to avoid floods, and spending the night on the roof without an umbrella during rains.

"We saved our lives, the flour, rice and other food items inside the house got wet and spoiled, even the clothes are all wet," Magar said, "Every year we have to bear this pain." That's why she said that instead of giving a bag of rice or two/four kilos of pulses, there is a demand to build a concrete embankment.

'Even now there is water and mud inside our house, we are living aside it,' said Chandra Bahadur Sunar, a flood victim of Zarga tol, 'We have never been able to live safely during the rains, let this horror end.'
