Kanchanpur office of Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority has started a detailed investigation on 64 complaints. The regional office of the Authority in Mahendranagar has started a detailed investigation after investigating various complaints in Far West.
Chetraj Bhatt, information officer of the commission's Kanchanpur office, said that there were 1,696 complaints related to abuse of authority and irregularities in the last financial year.
According to the statistics of the Mahendranagar office of the Commission, the highest number of 404 complaints are from Kailali, while the least number of complaints are from Dadeldhura, with 110 complaints. According to the statistics of the office, there are 246 complaints from Kanchanpur, 210 from Achham, 195 from Bajura, 117 from Bajhang, 210 from Achham, 104 from Doti, 161 from Baitadi and 149 from Darchula. About 50 percent of the complaints filed in the commission are related to the local level, according to information officer Bhatt.
A detailed investigation is being conducted on 13/13 complaints in Achham and Baitadi, while a detailed investigation is being conducted on six/six similar complaints in Bajura, Bajhang and Kanchanpur. Similarly, nine complaints from Kailali, seven from Darchula, three from Doti and one from Dadeldhura are also being investigated in detail.
If irregularities are confirmed after a detailed investigation, the commission will file a case in a special court. Most of the complaints received in the Commission are due to suspicions and personal conflicts, and when the necessary evidence is not found, the Commission does screening and preliminary investigations. Out of the complaints registered by the Commission last year, 1,234 complaints have been dismissed. According to the Kanchanpur office of the commission, 481 complaints were dismissed from the
screening and 753 complaints from the preliminary investigation. In addition, the commission has sent 735 complaints to Tameli, two complaints have been sent to Tameli with suggestions, 260 complaints have been sent in writing to relevant agencies for necessary action and 172 complaints have been merged with others.
