According to Tax Officer Jha, there has been an increase in the various tax titles collected by the office in the current financial year compared to the previous year. In particular, the growth rate of interest tax has been very high. According to Jha, interest tax has increased by 106.33 percent, which is the highest compared to other headings.
Similarly, income tax has also increased by 13.39 percent. This increase reflects the improvement in tax payable by individual and partnership businesses. He said that people's income sources are becoming transparent and there is gradual improvement in the practice of paying taxes by disclosing income statements.
Value Added Tax (VAT) has increased by 1.55 percent, which is relatively low, but is believed to be an effective implementation of the tax system on transactions and sales in the market.
Likewise, there has been a modest increase in the reinstated tax. According to Jha, the reinstated tax has increased by 0.35 percent.
Excise has increased by 20.18 percent. As this fee is especially levied on luxury items, alcoholic beverages, vehicles, etc., it can be assumed that there has been an increase in the import or purchase of consumer goods.
Tax Officer Jha believes that the increase in tax titles is the result of public awareness, monitoring and technical improvements towards the tax system.
In the fiscal year 2081/82, the office was given a target of tax collection of 1 billion 157 million 82 thousand rupees. Accordingly, 94 crore 94 lakh 27 thousand rupees have been collected.
