The Sakar Health Chowki building in Patan-1 of Baitadi was damaged when a tree fell on Friday afternoon due to the storm that accompanied the rain.

Narendra Bhattarai, the in-charge of the health post, said that one room of the health post was completely damaged and the other partially damaged when the salo tree broke and fell on the roof of the building. "The tree has completely damaged the room where the laboratory is kept, causing a loss worth 5 lakhs," he said, "partially damaged the room where malnutrition is treated." In-charge Bhattarai said that after the laboratory service was interrupted at the health post, the beneficiaries should go to the Patan primary health center for general check-up.

Health workers were in the other room and no human casualties were caused. Ward President of Patan-1 Tarkasingh Thagunna said that the roof of the Health Chowki building was covered with tin sheets and the building was old.
