Two people died on the spot in a jeep accident this morning in Himali rural municipality of Bajura. Police Inspector Dev Bahadur Chaudhary of the District Police Office informed that the deceased were 76-year-old Vija Rokaya and 75-year-old Wacha Rokaya of the same Rural Municipality-5 QD.

According to Chowdhury, the accident happened in Tunigada with jeep No. 03-001 J 0338 going to Ward Office of Ward No. 5 from Qudi village.

The police suspect that the jeep, which was carrying passengers coming for the renewal of social security allowance, may have had an accident due to the overcapacity of passengers on the dirt road.

15 people were injured in the jeep. Kul Bahadur Thapa, the chief administrative officer of the rural municipality, informed that the Himali rural municipality sent medical personnel with an ambulance to the scene to rescue the injured.

More details about the incident are yet to come and the investigation is underway, police said.
