There was a clash between the students in Sudurpaschim University due to a dispute over the Swabiyu elections. The situation of clashes was created after the lock imposed by the independent students was broken saying that the revised regulations related to Swabiyu elections should be repealed.
The independent students locked the election office on Monday saying that the revised regulations should be repealed, the election process should be inclusive and fair and the election officer should be changed. There was a dispute after the lock was broken on Tuesday morning.
14th of July at the central campus of Sudurpaschim University, the date of Swabiyu election has been fixed. Accordingly, the nomination date was fixed on Tuesday. When the students of Aneraswaviyu revolutionaries reached the election officer's office for nomination, a situation of clash was created.
3 students were injured in the clash. After creating a situation of clashes, the police have even charged with baton . After the incident, the union has locked the election officer's office . The nomination process has become more uncertain .
"The unilaterally amended election regulations should be abolished, an environment for fair elections should be created," said independent student Surendra Bista, "The regulations have been amended to bring in a special person." According to him, last year, elections were held in the university's Angik campus according to the old regulations.
According to the said regulation, the term of Swaviyu will also end with the completion of the student's studies . But now in the amended regulations, even if the study is completed, the tenure of Swaviyu will end at the scheduled time. June 2081 was amended by the Senate of the University.
Ganesh Mishra of Aneraswaviyu revolutionaries has alleged that the Navy Sangh is trying to split the elections in the name of independent students. In the past, he also accused the Navy Association of rigging the election.
Aneraswawiu has accused the students of suppressing their right to choose representatives by locking them up without any reason. Amar Bahadur Dhami, District President of Aneraswawiu Kanchanpur, issued a statement saying that while the election process was proceeding by breaking the lock on the day of nomination registration, the NSS and Akhil Revolutionaries clashed with each other with the intention of splitting the election and disturbed the atmosphere of the university elections.
Indra Saund, a central member of Nepal Vidyarthi Sangh, said that while he was having a discussion with the administration in the central campus of the university, the clash broke out after the students of the revolutionaries sprayed petrol. He also accused the police of beating the students of the Navy.
According to Election Officer Karnadev Bhatt, the rules were not amended immediately, but the Senate of the university did it last year. He said that the amendment was made at the request of the president of the student organization and 15 individual campuses. 'It has not been amended now, there was a dispute when we informed it,' he said, 'This matter came out when all the processes were proceeding according to the election schedule.' He said that after discussing with the students who put the lock, the lock will be opened, discussions will be held with other student organizations and then the schedule of nominations will be announced.
