The construction process of a dry port has started in Dodhara Chandni municipality. On Tuesday, with the handover of the site to the Indian construction company, the pre-construction work began.

On Tuesday, the Intermodal Transport Development Committee handed over the site to Comt Construction, which has been awarded the contract for the construction of the dry port. Ashish Gajurel, executive director of the committee, showed the construction site to Sunil Sharma, managing director of Comt Construction, and the area was cleaned.

'Formally, the construction work will start only after the Prime Ministers of the two countries jointly lay the foundation stone,' said Gajurel, the executive director of the Intermodal Transport Development Committee.

is currently in pre-production. Gherbar work has also started. Now the dry port construction site area has been separated by burying the flag. The work is expected to be completed within the next three years. "It is not only import of goods from the dry port, it is a commercial infrastructure, from here we can also export to Europe and America," Gajurel said, "Now we also have to establish industries for export."

Comt Construction has won a contract worth 2.4 billion baht for the construction of a dry port. Managing Director of Construction Sharma said that there is a contract agreement to complete the work within three years. "The site has been handed over to us, now we will do the pre-construction work," Sharma said, "After the foundation laying, the construction work will proceed." For the construction of the dry port, 1,702 trees in 42.36 hectares of Gourishankar Community Forest in Dodhara Chandni Municipality 1 have been cleared. Now the work is being done to remove the trunks of those trees, remove the bushes and fill the holes . The road from the malaria drain to the construction site has also been constructed.

Even though 42 hectares more land was discussed for the dry port, the structure will be built on only 25.3 hectares. Administrative buildings, warehouses, kitchens, security, quarantine houses and load and unload sheds will be constructed in that area. Also, a wall will be built on all sides.

"Even though the construction of the dry port is going to start slowly, it is a matter of happiness for us," said Tej Chand, a businessman who is also a member of the Industrial and Investment Promotion Board.

During the Prime Minister's visit to India in August, it is expected that the Prime Ministers of the two countries will jointly lay the foundation stone. The construction company said that only after that, other structures will be built. A four-lane concrete bridge has already been constructed on the Mahakali river for the dry port. About 8 km access road has been constructed from Gaddachouki to Malaria Nala. In some places, the access road is yet to be paved. On the Indian side, the access route of the national highway from Chakkarpur to Sukkha port is being constructed . Since two years ago, the construction of the access road has been going on in that area .
