Karan Khadka, an old Deuda player (Deudia) of Bajhang has passed away. Khadka, a resident of Jaya Prithvi Municipality-1, passed away at the age of 89.

He was taken to Dhangadhi for treatment after high blood pressure since June 26. Family sources said that he died during treatment on Friday night. Khadka Bajhang, who has a unique grasp of question-answer style in live Deuda, is famous throughout the district. Khadka Deuda was one of the most sought after local fairs, festivals, competitions and cultural events. Not only in Bajhang but also in the neighboring districts of Bajura, Doti, Achham, Kailali and Kanchanpur, Khadka has received various honors and awards.

Khadka's death has left a strong representative of the original culture and oral tradition, the residents of the district are expressing their condolences on social media. Constituent Assembly member Afilal Okheda has written a tribute to Deuda Tukka and said - 'Hausiya was made to laugh, Dukhaari Ruwayou, Deuda's Jorgena, Deuda's Jorgena, Hahaiyou in the society .' 

Khadka's son Jharendra Khadka said that the funeral of the deceased Khadka will be held on Saturday afternoon according to local tradition at Seti Nadi Aryaghat in Bajhang Chainpur.
