In view of the panchayat elections to be held in the Uttarakhand state of India, the Nepal-India border posts in Baitadi and Darchula districts are going to be closed.

On July 24 and 28 (next July 8 and 12), panchayat elections will be held in Uttarakhand, India. Chief District Officer Punyavikram Paudel informed that it was decided to close the border crossings with India in Baitadi and Darchula in view of the election. 

According to him, Pulghat in Darchula  Naka  They will be closed from the evening of July 21 (next July 5) to the morning of July 24 (July 8). He informed that Jhulaghat crossing of Baitadi will be closed from 9th of July to 12th of July.

It is said that if the border should be opened accidentally during that period, it can be opened with the mutual consent of both countries.
