A woman who was in Chaugot during her period has died due to snake bite. 28-year-old Kamala Auji Damai of Krishnapur Municipality-1 Nigali in Kanchanpur died.
According to District Police Office Kanchanpur, he died during treatment at Seti Provincial Hospital in Dhangadhi on Saturday evening. DSP Sagar Bohra of District Police Office Kanchanpur said, "He was bitten by a snake when he was sleeping in the camp after eating at night. According to him, he was bitten by a snake while he was sleeping in the camp on Friday night." Locals took Seti to Provincial Hospital for treatment at night.
'He was bitten by a snake as soon as he went to sleep after eating,' said Mohan Basnet, ward president of Krishnapur municipality-1, 'only the little son stayed at home, they slept in the house, while Kamala went to the nearby camp after eating.' The deceased Damai's husband works in Surat, India. Mother-in-law has also recently gone to India after planting.
Last year, the ward office also launched a campaign to demolish slums in that area . Chairman Basnet said that as many as 60 settlements were demolished. "No matter what we do, it is impossible, we will demolish the camp, they will build it again," President Basnet said.
Damai has a concrete house. She made a camp 20/30 meters away from the concrete house . When she was menstruating, she used to sleep in that corner.
