All those rescued from India were sent home

Those rescued from Rudrapur and Kashipur in Uttarakhand, India have been sent home. The rescued people were brought here through Kanchanpur's Gaddachouki checkpoint on Wednesday.

Chief District Officer of Kanchanpur Lakshman Dhakal said that they were sent to the respective districts with the help of various transport companies here on Thursday. According to him, all those who were rescued were not sent in the same vehicle but in the buses running on the respective routes. 

"When four people asked to go to Kathmandu, they were sent there, all others have been sent home," he said, "Transportation companies have also helped in this." With the help of "Kin India" and the Nepali Embassy in Delhi, they reached Mahendranagar on Wednesday. 

57 people who were held hostage by calling Rudrapur and Kashipur to collect 23,000 rupees have been rescued.

Among them, 10 are from Chitwan, 9 from Kailali, 5 from Sunsari, 4/4 from Udaipur, Tehrathum and Panchthar, 3/3 from Dang, Syangja and Banke, 2/2 from Taplejung, Doti and Dhading and 1/1 from Sarlahi, Kaski, Rukum, Baglung, Ilam and Rupandehi.  Kanchanpur Industry and Commerce Association managed their accommodation and food in Mahendranagar.
