The risk of corona virus (Covid-19) remains for those who return through the border crossings in the Far West bordering India.
A person from Bardia, who returned from Haldwani in India via Gaddachouki on the western border, is being treated in isolation at Mahakali Provincial Hospital, Mahendranagar, after his condition was found to be serious due to corona virus. The antigen test at the health desk at the border was positive.
"The patients who returned from India had high fever, breathing and cold problems," said Hemraj Joshi, information officer of the Far West Province Provincial Emergency Operation Center, "After the antigen test came back positive, they are being treated in the hospital's 'isolation'."
When the antigen test of the five suspected persons who returned through the border was done, only one person's result was positive .
Dr. Arjun Bhatt, Medical Superintendent of Mahakali Provincial Hospital, said that the health condition of the patients being treated in isolation has improved compared to the morning. He said that he was the first patient to be treated in isolation after the infection of corona virus started to increase again.
He said that after returning from India, the corona virus infection has started to appear, so that the use of masks should be promoted, along with the use of sanitizers, health-related precautions should be taken. He suggested that the people infected with corona should stay in quarantine or home isolation to prevent the spread of the infection in the community.
Antigen testing of suspected patients has been arranged through 'Health Desk' in five areas of the provinces bordering India.
The health workers working at the health desks at Gaddachouki in Kanchanpur, Gauriphanta and Khakraula in Kailali, Zhulaghat in Baitadi and Pulghat in Darchula have been identifying suspected patients of Corona and carrying out antigen tests.
Corona infection has been confirmed in 23 people who returned through the border from last May 21 to June 4. Out of which 16 people who were confirmed to be infected with Corona have recovered. Seven more people are undergoing treatment in home isolation.
