Saraswati Khadka, Minister of State for Social Development of Sudurpaschim Province, has said that union, state and local governments should work together to make education technology-friendly.

Inaugurating the 'Province Level Science-Mathematics Educational Exhibition' organized at Baijnath Secondary School located in Amargadhi Municipality-2 of Dadeldhura on Thursday, she said that the use of technology in education is essential to keep pace with the age of technology. She said that for this, it is necessary to have policy priorities at all three levels.

She said that it was inspiring for government schools to organize such exhibitions even with limited resources, and she was surprised to see the students' performances. "Government should identify and encourage children who are thinking in science and technology," she said, "establishing innovation centers in the far west is the need now." In addition, she emphasized on the need to restructure the distributive budget system according to the needs and sentiments of the students.

Education Development Directorate organized by Doti and managed by Baijnath Mavi Maurda, 6 schools from five districts of Sudurpaschim Province participated in the exhibition. Dadeldhura's Baijnath Mavi Maurda, Bajura's Bhanodaya Mavi Nauvis, Darchula's Malikarjun Mavi Dhap, Kailali's Satyavati Academy and Kanchanpur's Mahendranagar Mavi and Lakshmi Mavi participated in the exhibition.

The students presented models and laboratory presentations made by connecting science and mathematics with daily life. The students demonstrated their inventiveness on various scientific techniques, simple methods of digital calculation, energy conservation, environmental awareness, measurement methods, use of local resources and practical use of mathematical formulas. During the

program, Director General of Education Development Directorate Durgadatta Bista said that such exhibitions will increase the confidence of students and expose new talents. "Education should not be limited to book knowledge only," he said, "Such efforts help in making it practical."

Baijnath High School Principal Mohansingh Dhami said that such exhibitions play an important role in the development of students' talent, thinking and research ability. He also expressed the opinion that such programs that make education come alive will teach students practical knowledge and life skills.

Certificates, trophies and cash prizes were awarded to schools and students who exhibited best. Dadeldhura's Baijnath High School, Kanchanpur's Mahendranagar High School came second and Kailali's Satyavati Academy came third in science exhibition. Lakshmi Mavi of Kanchanpur, Baijnath Mavi of Dadeldhura came second and Satyavati Academy third in mathematics exhibition.
