The number of patients coming for treatment at the District Ayurveda Dispensary in Dipayal, Doti is increasing. The increase in the number of clients is due to the increasing trust in Ayurveda and the upgradation of dispensaries.
In the past years, as many as 8/10 patients used to come for treatment at the Ayurveda dispensary in Dipayal. However, today more than 100 patients are coming for treatment every day, said the head of the office, Bidya Ghimire Deuba.
The number of patients who come to the dispensary for physiotherapy and fundamental therapy for Purvakarma and Panchakarma therapy is large. She said that there are a lot of bone pain patients. Some patients come to Ayurveda after they have not been cured by other treatments. People who are treated using herbs at home have also started coming to the dispensary. However, due to the lack of resources and manpower, the dispensary complains that medicines cannot be distributed easily in all areas. She said that if the provincial government allocates more budget for drug production and distribution, Ayurveda treatment can be streamlined.
The dispensary said that the patients who come to the dispensary are being treated with Ayurvedic medicine, diet and yoga and psychosocial counseling. According to District Ayurveda Health Center Chief Ghimire, 14 thousand 338 people were treated in District Ayurveda Dispensary in 2079/080. In which there are 5 thousand 622 women and 8 thousand 716 men. Similarly, in 2080/081, it is mentioned in the office statistics that 18 thousand 126 patients were treated. There are 7 thousand 469 women and 10 thousand 657 men. In the current financial year, 19 thousand 538 patients have received services till May. Out of which 8 thousand 529 women and 11 thousand 9 men have taken service. She said that OPD services with specialists, lab services, physiotherapy, Ayurvedic therapy, senior citizen services and school Ayurveda and yoga education programs are being conducted.
dispensary has been providing treatment services for diseases related to stomach (acidity, gastric), respiratory, rheumatism, kidney, nose, ear, throat, etc. Chief Ghimire said that under the health promotion program for senior citizens, distribution of chemotherapeutic drugs and nutrition services for children who do not produce enough milk to promote health, distribution of breastfeeding drugs, prenatal therapy for patients with arthritis and rheumatism were conducted.
