The Far West Province Government has appointed Lok Bahadur Khadka as the Member-Secretary of the Provincial Sports Council. Khadka, a Congress supporter, is a former hockey and football player.

The Sports Council under the Ministry of Social Development is responsible for leading the activities of sports development in the province. The tenure of the member-secretary, who will be provided with eleventh level service facilities, is four years.

There is a joint government of Congress, UML and Civil Liberation Party in Far West, and the parties have share in various bodies. According to which, the part of the member-secretary of the sports council, which is considered important, has been taken by the Congress, the leading party of the government.

After this, the leaders said that the government will appoint the provincial youth councils, hospital development committees etc.
