Kailali district police office has arrested four city policemen of Dhangadhi sub-metropolitan city on the charge of assaulting Kailali customs office chief Anant Prasad Timsina.

A team of the city police, including city police chief Laxmansingh Dhami, entered the hands of the Kailali customs office, which is the head of customs in the Far West, and beat up the customs chief Timsina.

DSP Rajkumar Singh, spokesperson of District Police Office Kailali, said that City Police Inspector Dhami, City Police Constable Mani Dutt Bhatt, City Police Constable Jitendrasingh Dhami and driver Ratan Bahadur Malla have been arrested. Timsina, the head of the customs office, filed a complaint against them.

On Saturday night After receiving a report that a fast-moving vehicle was destroyed by a fake jeep parked in the tree garden of Dhangadhi-Attaria six-lane road, the team of city police chief Dhami reached the customs checkpoint to search for the vehicle. There was a dispute between the customs office chief Timsina and the city police team. After the dispute escalated, the CCTV footage of the city police team beating Timsina inside the office premises was released.

After the all-round criticism of the incident, the Dhangadhi sub-metropolitan city also asked city police chief Dhami for an explanation within 24 hours on Sunday.
