It has been found that Himshikhar Multipurpose Cooperative Society, which was established in the year 2065 with its central office at Dipayal, has embezzled five crore rupees from savers. The cooperative used to collect money from the traders every day with the aim of accumulating savings from the main trading centers of Doti, Pipalla, Dipayal, Silagadi and Rajpur market.

Chet Bahadur Khadka, who was running a hotel business in Pipalla Bazar, had deposited 664,699 rupees in two accounts in the name of his wife and himself. He had opened a term account of 4 lakh 12 thousand 910 rupees in the name of his son Sanskar Khadka. They have not yet been able to get back the money saved for their son's education. The office of the cooperative has been closed for two years. 'He saved two paisa by not eating and deposited it in the cooperative. The interest is another matter, not even the loan was given,' said Khadka, 'Even when I inform the officials of the cooperative, they do not listen.'

Local businessman Sarvajit Deuba has said that he did not get back the savings he had deposited in Himshikhar Cooperative about seven lakh rupees. He said, "I collected a small amount by doing business all day long, but now I have no home."

Similarly, Sujung Hospital also saved 1.4 million rupees in Himsikhar, said Arjun Balayer, the head of administration of the hospital. 504 local traders and common people were saving in this cooperative. Dhan Bahadur Shahi, chairman of the cooperative, said that

cooperative has invested 3099968 thousand 835 rupees in the form of loans to 112 people, while 523 million 861 rupees should be returned to the savers. He has also given information that at present there is a total of Rs 184,338 in eight bank accounts of the cooperative. According to Chairman Shahi, 'a minimum of 1 lakh to a maximum of 13 lakh loans was provided in the market. The cooperative has now reached this situation because many did not return it.'
