It is said that the government of Sudurpaschim Province is serious about the demand related to local services raised by local level employees and trade unions. In the morning of May 2nd, the state government has informed through a statement that the issue of demand for services was taken seriously in the discussion held at the office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers.

The discussion was held with some employees and representatives of the national level trade union federation active in the Far West province. 

After the discussion, Chief Minister Kamal Bahadur Shah has expressed his commitment that the 'Local Service Bill' which has been submitted to the Provincial Assembly will be passed soon after completing the necessary procedures. 

It is mentioned in the release that the Act will be issued as soon as possible in the next session after discussion by the Legislation and Provincial Affairs Committee of the Provincial Assembly. 

Province Assembly session call

The meeting held on Friday to address the demands related to local services recommended to the Provincial Chief Minister Nazir Mian to convene a session of the Provincial Assembly. The office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers has informed that the session has been called for 1 pm on May 11th.

The provincial government has also requested the agitating employees to return to the relevant levels and offices and create a positive environment for discussion. It is mentioned in the statement that the provincial government is always serious, sensitive and responsible in matters related to local services and staff growth. 

All the 88 local level employees and trade unions of the Far West started a protest centered on Dhangadhi from May 28, demanding the release of the Local Services Act as soon as possible.
