In Bajhang, the sale and distribution of illegally produced domestic liquor and low-quality liquor packed in plastic bottles and bags has been banned. The all-party meeting decided to impose the ban because of the adverse impact on public health due to low-quality alcohol.

The district administration office informed that the decision was taken at a meeting held under the chairmanship of Nar Bahadur Bohra, head of district coordination committee Bajhang, in the presence of heads, deputy heads, representatives of political parties, heads of security agencies in the district, industry and commerce association, hotelier association and others.  It is mentioned in the decision of the all-party meeting that the prohibition was imposed on the basis of the findings of the on-site study conducted by the Liquor Sale and Distribution Regulation, Monitoring and Inspection Committee, formed under the liquor sale and distribution regulation guidelines, that this kind of liquor sale and distribution has affected the health of common citizens, there has been an increase in criminal incidents such as domestic violence, theft, robbery, and robbery, and it has also created obstacles in improving the standard of living of the citizens.
