The services provided by the municipality and the bank are stopped
Telephone and internet services have been interrupted for five days in Vikat Saipal Rural Municipality of Bajhang. Due to the disruption of services, the daily life of the local people as well as the rural municipality and banking services have also been affected.
"We have not been able to contact anyone for five days," said Ghuran Bohra, a local.
Due to disruption of telephone and internet services, the daily services provided by the rural municipality and ward offices have been badly affected. Online services such as personal incident registration, social security services, as well as all the work done in the online system of ministries and other agencies have been stopped.
'All work of the client has stopped. The software of some agencies has not been able to respond to the work to be done and the letter that needs to be answered immediately,' said Jairaj Joshi, the chief administrative officer of the rural municipality, 'All services are at a standstill.'
Bajhang office of Nepal Telecom has informed that the problem occurred when the lightning struck the repeater tower in Bhakunde Danda of Mashta Rural Municipality which connects the tower of Nepal Telecom in Rasyalek of Saipal with the network.
Bam Bahadur Singh, head of Telecom Bajhang, said that the lightning damaged the repeater tower's microwave, radio, audio, seven solar panels, solar controller, and ITA equipment. "Our technical team is doing repair work," he said. We are trying to restore the service as soon as possible.'
