A national conference on innovation in higher education is being held in Bajhang

Jai Prithvi Campus of Bajhang is going to hold a national conference to improve the quality of higher education. In the conference, intensive discussions and debates will be held to improve the quality of higher education.

The organizer Jai Prithvi Campus has informed that the conference will be held for two days and will be attended by professors, subject experts, teachers, researchers, students and public representatives from various universities of Nepal.

The organizer said that the current situation, opportunities and challenges of higher education will be explored at the national conference through activities such as presentation of working papers, panel discussions, and interactions on various topics. 

'As the quality of higher education deteriorates, it seems to have a direct impact on the development, prosperity and transformation of the society. However, there has not been enough discussion and debate as to why this is happening,' Lal Bahadur Bohra, assistant campus head of Jai Prithvi Campus, who is also the coordinator of the conference organizing committee, said, 'Because there is a greater need for such a debate in districts like Bajhang, we have reached the stage of organizing a national conference after a long time of preparation.' He stated that such conferences have not been held in other districts of this province except Kailali and Kanchanpur of Far West Province and claimed that when such a conference is held in Bajhang, it will send a message to other districts as well. 

The first Jai Prithvi Campus of Bajhang, established in 2038, in 2081 Chaitra, with the financial support of Sudur Paschim University, provided the professors, teachers and research staff of 24 campuses across Sudur Paschim Province. A two-day academic workshop has already been completed with the participation of University Grants Commission, local level of Bajhang, provincial ministries, diplomatic bodies, Sudurpaschim University, district-based industry, commerce and hoteliers' association, etc., informed that the conference is going to be organized on the 13th and 14th of May. He said that in the

conference, more than 200 subject matter experts, teachers, researchers, public representatives, etc. will present more than 100 working papers based on multiple genres such as science and technology, education, humanities, language planning, rural development, cooperation between higher education provider educational institutions and associations, provinces and local levels, etc. He expects that after the conference, a debate will be created about quality improvement and timely development of higher education.
