Badi Basti of Krishnapur Municipality-2 Gunyalphanta is at high risk of Vanhara River. The river has been eroding the land every year, moving towards the settlement area in the coastal area of ​​the river.

Padam Rana (Badi), the leader of the settlement, said that a reliable arrangement of embankments should be made to protect the settlement by creating a master plan. 'We have been demanding for many years to control the river and protect the land that is being eroded,' he said, 'there has not been a reliable system.'

As the rainy season is only a few months away, the people living along the river are worried. There are 50 houses of Badi community and more than 100 houses of Dalit community in Gunyalphanta. In 2064, seven families were displaced due to floods in the river.

Padam Badi said that because the river cuts towards the settlement during the rainy season, even if there is little land erosion, it seems that four houses will be displaced. Keshav Badi said that five acres of land in the place where he was living was washed away by the flood last year.

"After the land was cut and washed away by the river, only a 6-story tower is left", he said, "Let's go to India and work as a laborer to meet the family's expenses, we have been doing that work for years, we are starting to worry about where to live if the river has washed away the tower we live in."
