Prakash Badu, the joint candidate of Nepal Vidyarthi Sangh and All Revolutionaries, has won the presidency of Independent Students' Union (SWAVIU) of Darchula Multipurpose Campus, the main campus of the district.
Prakash, who is a joint candidate, defeated Khadak Thagunna of Aneraswaviyu by a margin of 31 votes. Out of 449 votes cast in the election held on Wednesday, Prakash, who was elected as the chairman, won with 222 votes. His closest rival Khadak Thagunna of Aneraswaviyu has received 191 votes. Election Officer Karan Singh Sawad said that Anilchandra Joshi, an independent candidate for the chairmanship, got 20 votes.
Similarly, Lalsingh Mahar of the joint panel Akhil Krantikari has won as secretary of SWIU with 218 votes. His opponent Dipusinh Mahata of Aneraswaviyu has got 215 votes. Jagatsingh Dhami of the joint panel Navy Sangh has also won the treasurer by getting 240 votes. His rival Kusum Dhami of Aneraswaviyu has got 203 votes.
In the same way, the candidates of the joint panel have also won among the members of Swaviyu. Among the members of the joint panel, Basanti Bohra of Navy Sangh 225, Sangeeta Dhami 233, Ramita Joshi 225, Tanisha Niraula 235, Premsingh Dhami of Akhil Krantikari 227 and Sarojni Thagunna of Akhil who won by getting 231 votes, informed the election officer Sawad.
