In the year 2024, 1 thousand 81 cases of human rights violations and excesses have occurred in Sudurpaschim Province.

Informal Sector Service Center (INSEC) Sudurpaschim Province Office, Dhangadhi has released this data during a press conference on 'Nepal Human Rights Year Book 2025 and Human Rights Situation in Sudurpaschim Province' on Wednesday.

In 2024, there were 1,999 victims of human rights violations and excesses across the state. According to him, in 2024, 11 people including one woman and 10 men were victims of human rights violations in the province and 1,088 people including 1,094 women and 34 men were victims of 1,070 incidents of rape.

It was informed on the occasion that 11 people were victims in the case of assault, six in the case of arrest, one in the case of death in prison, one in the case of death in custody and one in the case of inhuman treatment.  

In the same way, 9 were killed by beatings and sharp weapons from the non-state side, 11 were injured, 105 were killed in cases of child rights, 3 in cases of caste discrimination, 947 in cases of women's rights, and inhumane treatment. Provincial coordinator Joshi informed that two, eight and three were victims of assault and threats. 

He said that the number of victims in 2024 has decreased compared to 2023. Compared to the year 2023, the number of victims in 2024 decreased by 102 people.
