A man has been arrested by the police for forcing his wife to commit suicide. The arrested person is 28-year-old Rajesh Saud of Thalara Rural Municipality-4.
The body of his wife, 27-year-old Dharma Saud, was found in the Seti River on Friday morning. Lokendra Thagunna, Acting Chief Inspector of District Police, has informed that Rajesh was arrested based on the complaint of deceased Dharma's wife and further investigation is being carried out on the incident.
Thagunna said that her husband Rajesh Saud gave a statement that his wife left the house at three o'clock on Friday and jumped from the bridge of the Seti River, which was about two hours below. Thagunna said, "Dharma was being followed by some people including himself and jumped while his wife was watching," Thagunna said. After the post-mortem report, it will be revealed more about what is murder or suicide.'
Thagunna informed that he is now being investigated in the case of abetment of suicide based on the fact that he was beaten and tortured many times before.
Although it is said that he jumped into the Seti River, the deceased's abdomen was not swollen, and the head and other parts of the body were injured.
The mother of the deceased, Devagiri Devi Dhami, suspects that her daughter-in-law may have been killed in the evening as her son-in-law picked her up while calling her daughter and did not allow her to talk.
'When the son-in-law called his daughter around seven o'clock in the evening, she picked him up. She said, "They are telling me not to talk, rather than give my daughter." She said, "The next morning, the news comes that she is dead." If he jumped, then his stomach should not be swollen. It is suspected that they were killed at night.'
She said that earlier her children were taken away from their mother and taken to India and she was tortured physically and mentally. Devi said that her two sons, aged nine and five, were taken to India at midnight and a three-year-old daughter was with her.
