Two ministers visited the construction site of Mahakali bridge

The four-lane concrete bridge and guide bond work under construction on the Mahakali river has been closed for 6 months. The work has been stopped because there is no variation of the new design of the guide bond constructed on both sides of the bridge.

Despite repeated requests from the construction company, the variation has not been done. The access road has also been obstructed the last time. If the variation is not done in time, if the guide bond is not constructed, it seems that the paved bridge along with the access road will be at risk.

In order to solve this problem, Minister of Physical Infrastructure and Transport Devendra Dahal and Home Minister Ramesh Akhtar inspected the construction site on Saturday. The minister also drew Dahal's attention to the possible damage along with the guide bond washed away by the severe flood in the Mahakali river in the last week of August.

"We had to strengthen the guide bond, we had to strengthen the access road and create an environment that would be completed within the month of June," said the Home Minister to the team including the Minister of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, "If that is not done, the bridge will remain in the middle, the settlement will also be at risk." He said that the plan of dry port to be built in Dodhara Chandni may also fail.

In addition, when the Bhujela river is blocked by the flood of the Mahakali during the rainy season, the settlements on the banks of the Mahakali in the Bhimdatta municipality-11, 12 and 13 wards will be inundated. Minister Dahal reached the construction site with a team including the secretary of the ministry.

"A decision will be taken after the necessary discussion on this matter," Minister Dahal said, "I have come to understand about it on the spot, now some decision will be made about it."

Locals of the area have requested to do the necessary work to control the Bhujela river along with the guide bond. He has also warned that if the guide bond and Bhujela river control work is not carried out before the rainy season, the settlements will be flooded.
