Locals are happy after the budget on the expressway

Locals are happy after the Ministry of Finance gave consent for resources for the Dhangadhi-Khutia-Dipayal-Chainpur-Uraibhanjyang Road Plan (Fast Track), which will be half the distance of the previous road for the four hilly districts of Far West.

The construction of this road, which has been the main demand of the residents of the hill district since 2006, was being slowed down due to lack of budget. Local residents who have been putting heavy pressure on the leaders and public representatives since the work has started to slow down, have been expressing their happiness on social media since Wednesday when the news of the agreement came out.

"Since the capital of the state is not in the hills, we have been demanding the speedy completion of the expressway", said Vikram Saund, president of the Doti Industry and Commerce Association, "Now we have to travel 200 kilometers to Dhangadhi via Dadeldhura. Our main demand was that the expressway will reduce the distance by more than half.

President Saund said that he was happy with the news of the budget. Ramesh Khadayat, Vice President of the Construction Professionals Association, emphasized that the implementation of the budget should be done as soon as possible. The news that resource consent has been given for the project which has been stalled due to lack of budget is natural for the residents of the hilly district to be happy and Khadayat said that pressure should also be put on its implementation.

After the construction of the project, the distance for the residents of Doti, Achham, Bajura, Bajhang to the capital of Far West Province Dhangadhi will be reduced by half. Engineer Dinesh Raikhola said that immediately after getting the resource consent, Dhangadhi-Khutia-Dipayal-Chainpur-Uraibhanjang road project office Dhangadhi has started the process. According to Engineer Raikhola, the project has already prepared 25 km of black sheeting from Hatkholi in Kailali to Bipinagar in Doti.

Even though the track has been opened, the vehicles have not been able to move due to landslides during the rains. "We will approve the estimate for this month by keeping this year's district rate," said Engineer Raikhola. Kilometers are needed. From Dhangadhi to 3 km before Syaule, 13 km distance has been blacked out. Engineer Raikhola said that 7 kilometers of black paper up to Hatkholi is being worked on in the current financial year. "Kalika Bedansi JV Construction Company is working after getting the contract", said Engineer Raikhola.

Out of the 51 km in Doti, 15 km of the Rajpur to Salena road section is being paved from this year. CM-Dunila-Swaar JV Construction Company has already started work on the said road after awarding the contract for 75 crores for 58 crores.

According to the project, there will be 16 small bridges on the road section. Out of 16, 8 are under construction. This year only 64 million has been allocated after the estimate of 260 million for 8 bridges under construction .

Similarly, the Ministry has not been able to prepare the DPR for the remaining 8 bridges to be constructed. It is estimated that the construction will be delayed as the soil of some bridge construction sites has not been tested.
