District Agriculture Alliance has been formed to cooperate in the agricultural development of the district by removing the distortions seen in the agricultural sector.

Alliance has been formed on the initiative of Agricultural Knowledge Center Bajhang by including all the municipalities of the district and the stakeholders of the agricultural sector. The alliance was formed to solve problems such as union, state and local governments working separately in the field of agriculture, despite spending a large amount of money but not achieving results, in some places spending double the budget for the same plan, and agricultural subsidy programs are not received by real farmers but by activists.  Janak Bahadur Singh, the planning officer of Krishi Gyan Kendra Bajhang, said that the alliance formed under the chairmanship of Krishi Gyan Kendra will consist of people's representatives and employees of the agriculture branch of the district, various non-governmental organizations working in the district, experts in the agricultural sector and other stakeholders. It has also been decided to hold a meeting of Alliance every four months to review the activities in the agricultural sector across the district, he said.

He said that Alliance will also monitor the condition of the agricultural sector, the management of the data of the work done, and the monitoring of the investment. It is sad that in Bajhang, which is a region that grows everything from mangoes to apples, it still has to rely on other districts for large-scale agricultural production. If we all can work by creating a common plan, this district will not only become self-sufficient in agriculture, but it is also possible to alleviate poverty through agriculture by selling the products here,'' said Khemraj Paneru, head of Agricultural Knowledge Center Bajhang. He informed that Alliance will make and implement a sustainable agricultural development plan of the district. In the absence of necessary coordination, the investment is becoming ineffective, and the people's representatives and employees of the municipality hope that Alliance will be a milestone for the development of the agricultural sector in the district. "If the investment in the agricultural sector is monitored, the irregularities can be reduced to a large extent," said Deepak Sunar, head of the agriculture branch of Chibis Pathivera Rural Municipality, "If there is an environment for Alliance to work actively, it is hoped that progress will be made in the field of agriculture within one or two years."
