In the by-election for the post of vice president in Swamikartik Rural Municipality of Bajura, the leaders and workers of the Maoist center have been divided into two groups. One party has decided to support the UML candidate, while the other group has taken a stand to support the candidate of the United Socialist Party.
The Maoist Center supported the CPN-UML candidate Sulochana Bhandari Budha and returned the candidature to its candidate Rajukumari Bik after the decision of the Swamikartik Village Committee. But the leader of the Maoist center, state in-charge Girirajmani Pokharel, in a letter to the village committee on Wednesday, has instructed to support Jawa Shahi, the candidate of the United Socialist Party, even if his party's candidature is withdrawn.
Since then, the chairman of the village committee, Randeep Budha, said that there is no justification for the central directive. Supporting the statement of President Budha, District Coordination Committee Secretary Ramesh Bik also said that he is ready to implement the decision made by the village committee, even if the party has to take any action for that. "We will vote for the UML candidate for Swamikartik's vice-presidential post, and we are ready even if we have to endure action for that," said Bik, the secretary of the district coordination committee.
On the other hand, Deepak Budha, the coordinator of the District Coordination Committee, claimed that the support of the party is for the candidate of the Integrated Socialist Party. The written instruction of the state in-charge has also arrived. Violation will be punished," he said. In this way, the leaders and workers of the Maoist center have been divided into two lines from the village to the province.
In Swamikartik, the UML and Maoist center have agreed to share positions for the local elections of 2084 and said that they have coordinated in the current by-elections . UML Swamikartik village committee president Navraj Kattel said 'We have reached an agreement to give the Maoist center vice president and president in two wards.' Competition is about to happen.
UML candidate Sulochana Bhandari Budha, Pultisara Shahi of Congress and Jawa Shahi of CPN (S) are candidates. UML candidate Budha was also the vice president candidate in 079 .
