Senior citizens in remote areas have to suffer because they have to go to the bank to collect social security allowance. Elderly citizens say that there is less chance of abuse if the allowance is taken from the bank itself, but it is difficult to reach the bank from a difficult place.

Even though the Ministry of Federal Affairs and Local Development has made a policy of giving allowances to the beneficiaries through bank accounts because of bullying by the employees, the elderly and disabled have to suffer because they have to go to the headquarters to receive the allowances.

Due to the geographical difficulties in the hilly areas, the elderly people who have to open accounts in the headquarters bank and the bank in the local level center to get allowance have started expressing their pain .

The government, which was earlier distributing social service allowances based on identity cards from the village offices, has now made the banking system mandatory, and the elderly have suffered. 

Under this process, the recipients of social security allowance must open a mandatory account in Nepal's 'A' and 'B' category banks. The government has made arrangements to directly deposit the amount for social security allowance into the same account . Those who are ignorant of the paper process have to find a way to open an account in the bank.

"In the beginning, you have to carry yourself to open an account, and you have to carry yourself to get the allowance. This kind of allowance has to be swallowed or swallowed," said 82-year-old Tipuri Jaisi of Mangalsen Municipality-7.

83-year-old Jamman Dholi of Mangalsen Municipality-3 said that he gets more distressed when he comes to collect allowance during the festival. Can't sit in the line . Back pain . Dhan Bahadur Thapa, Chief Administrative Officer of Chowrapati Rural Municipality, said that once every three months, they go to the ward office and distribute allowances to those who cannot come to the bank.
