Today, the police arrested one more person on the charge of being involved in the murder of 45-year-old Virbhan Bista of Patan Municipality-6 of Baitadi. 26-year-old Ashish Pahari of Patan-6 has been arrested.
Bhupal Thapa, Police Spokesperson and Senior Deputy Inspector of Police informed that the police team arrested the guard from Patan-5 Kuwapani forest while he was running away. Relatives of the deceased Virbhan filed a complaint against five people. He said that all of them have been arrested and the incident is being investigated.
Police earlier arrested 36-year-old Bhagarathi Bishta of Patan-6 on the charge of being involved in the murder of a watchman, Rajendra Bhattarai and Kishore Bhattarai of Patan-1 and Bharat Mohan Bista of Patan-6 have been arrested. According to the police, they are being investigated after the district court has extended the deadline by five days.
The body of Virbhan Bista, who had been missing since Saturday 1st June, was found in Patan-6 Ghangal river on Monday afternoon. Bhagarathi has confessed to the police that she killed Bishta. She has given a statement to the police that she killed Virbhan by hitting her with a wooden stick. Bhagarathi is a teacher of the local Sahastralinga Primary School, while the deceased is a truck driver. The police said that the reason for the murder could not be revealed.
