In recent days, the Lipulek dispute has again gained a prominent place in the question of Nepal's sovereignty and geographical integrity. According to the agreement between India and China, the decision to make Lipulek a trade route was made without Nepal's approval, and it has hurt our national interests.

The fact that Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, who is on a visit to China, boldly raised this issue before Chinese President Xi Jinping is proof of his firm commitment to the national interest.

According to the Sugauli Treaty, the Prime Minister clearly stated the historical and legal fact that the entire territory from the mouth of the Mahakali River to the east belongs to Nepal. Although President Xi called it a Nepal-India issue and said that China would not be a party, it is a kind of positive sign that he respects Nepal's claim.

At this moment Prime Minister Oli has raised this issue with courage, that step has made all Nepalis proud. Moreover, if the Prime Minister and the President of India and China are in the same place, if there is an opportunity for direct confrontation, it can be believed that Nepal can strengthen its side. If Prime Minister Oli, who is going on a two-day visit to India on August 31 at the invitation of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, can openly express his views to India as he has with China, it can be expected that this problem will be solved soon. 

In this context, it is imperative that all political parties, governments and civil society stand united in favor of national self-respect and territorial integrity. Lipulek is not only a geographical area but a subject connected with our identity, history and existence. It cannot be taken lightly. The government of Nepal has a special request to raise this issue at the highest level in the international forum and take decisive action according to the sentiments of the people.

The east, south and west parts of Nepal are bordered by India, while China is on the north side. In terms of land area, India is 22 times larger than Nepal and China is 32 times larger. It is shameful and shameful for a big country to treat a land-locked country with a federal democratic system that is approaching a small and developed country like Nepal. 

China and India, which are the second and third countries in the world economically, saying that they are strong and powerful, making an agreement between the Sandhiyars on the land of Nepal without dealing with the landowners is a violation of international law.
