A passenger bus has met with an accident at a place called Lilauti near Triveni in Bhalubajor, Manthali Municipality-6, Ramechhap.
A passenger bus of Araniko Transport (number 1975) coming from Kathmandu to Okhaldhunga fell into the Tamakoshi river from a place called Lilauti a while ago. The accident has claimed the lives of five people so far. Police Inspector Rajan Prasad Timsina of the District Police Office, Ramechhap, confirmed that the bodies of five people, including the driver, have been recovered.
After the accident, rescue operations are underway with the help of local residents, security personnel and rescue teams. According to Police Inspector Timsina, so far, three people have been rescued and sent for treatment.
Efforts are underway to pull others out of the bus that sank in the Tamakoshi river. The cause of the accident is yet to be determined and further investigation into the incident is underway, according to the police.
