A passenger electric vehicle (EV) driver died in an accident on Friday morning near Golanjore rural municipality 5 Khaniankhark under the Sindhulimadi-Khurkot section of the BP highway.

5 people were injured in the accident. According to the police, 26-year-old Shusant Nepali, the driver of EV No. 1-030 Ch 9642, who was going to Kathmandu from Jhapa, died at Sindhuli Hospital during treatment.

Police said that the condition of two of the injured persons is alarming. Sindhuli police chief SP Govindraj Kafle said that it fell about 400 meters from the road and rescue was difficult.

Five injured people are being treated at Sindhuli Hospital. The police suspect that the accident may have happened because the driver fell asleep.
