Due to continuous rains, the flow of water through the Saptakoshi barrage has increased. As per Saturday morning measurement, there is 4 lakh 19 thousand cusecs of water in Kosi barrage.

After the increase in water flow, 50 out of 56 gates of the barrage have been opened. Earlier, on June 23, all 56 gates of the barrage were opened with the flow of 368,000 cusecs of water.

Although the flow of water has increased, the structure of the barrage is safe now. Meanwhile, the Water Resources Department of the Government of Bihar has written to 8 districts of Bihar to be on high alert saying that the flow of water will increase unexpectedly in Koshi . The department has said that 681 thousand cusecs of water may flow through the Kosi Barrage at 12 o'clock on Saturday . Supaul, Saharsa, Madhepura, Madhuvani, Darbhanga, Bhagalpur, Khagadia and Katihar districts have been informed to adopt high alert.
