Nepal's Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a bilateral meeting in New York. The sideline meeting during the 79th General Assembly of the United Nations was held at Lotte Palace in New York.
On that occasion, Foreign Minister Arju Rana Deuba, who participated in the meeting, informed that Indian Prime Minister Modi will soon visit Nepal. Talking to Kantipur after the meeting, she said, "Modiji has said that he will visit Nepal soon." In addition, there was an agreement to solve all the problems by activating the bilateral mechanisms during the meeting. PM Oli, speaking to reporters after the
meeting He mentioned that the meeting was good. On behalf of Nepal, Prime Minister Oli, Foreign Minister Rana, Prime Minister's Political Affairs Adviser Bishnu Rimal, Foreign Secretary Seva Lamsal, Representative of the Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York and Ambassador Lok Bahadur Thapa, Joint Secretary and Spokesperson of Foreign Affairs Amrit Kumar Rai participated in the meeting.
On behalf of India, along with Prime Minister Modi, Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar and Foreign Ministry Secretary Vikram Misri and others were present. Talks between the two sides lasted for about 45 minutes. After the 
meeting, Foreign Affairs Spokesperson Amrit Kumar Rai informed that the bilateral meeting has helped to further strengthen the atmosphere of trust between the two countries.
After becoming the Prime Minister for the fourth time, Oli's first meeting with the Prime Minister of India is . Before this, Oli visited India for the first and second time when he was the Prime Minister and met with Modi.
