Nepal Police has arrested a gang that was robbing women of their necklaces. A team from the District Police Range, Kathmandu, arrested a gang that was robbing women of their necklaces in various places in Kathmandu along with the materials used in the robbery and made it public on Monday.

Those arrested are Sabin Tamang, 21, of Kakani, Nuwakot, Bimal Tamang, 26, of the same place, Sujan Tamang, 21, of the same place, Satish Amatya, 44, of Bidur Municipality, Nuwakot, and Ritika Majhi, 19, of Solukhumbu, informed Police Range, Kathmandu, Spokesperson and Superintendent of Police Pawan Kumar Bhattarai.

They were arrested on the basis of an investigation into gold robbery incidents that took place on Chaitra 12, 19 and Baisakh 6 at various places. Police have recovered 12.90 grams of gold, one screwdriver, one large wrench, eight small wrenches, one mobile phone, one khukuri, hoodie, trousers, jacket and other items from the arrested persons.

Spokesperson Bhattarai said that the gang, which was arrested from Paiyutar, Ward No. 4, Tarakeswor Municipality, Kathmandu, is being investigated by the Thankot Police Circle.
